Squash the hate- hate bug

🐤s.zaynab.kamoonpuri🌷🐦😽

Hatred is simply a fractious bug on the brain
which doesn't always wash away with the rain
that is neither the rain of love nor that of homily

But if you solemnly profess belief
in the God right above
let this even to atheists be relief
that God only means love
for no religion preaches hatred to man or family

The wronged wishing to be placated
The tortured wishing to be avenged
Embittered humans provoked to malice and hatred
forgetting we are all but Adam's progeny and kindred
Alas, hatred's a scenario that so costs humanity

Most of us are tired of hearing
of this cause and effect'
circle of violence and repercussion
Why wilfully make yourself a target
and fall in lasting perdition?

We don't wanna hear the hate crimes is a virus
that has no earthly cure
Since compassion is a vaccine
to prevent it for sure
Yet some might think
this is easy to sing and easy to say
Gosh, but don't the world need more die-hard supporters
of peace till judgement day?

Keep the peace and spread it.!!
Do your bit, come use your wit.
Swat and squash the hate bug from your mind and heart
Promote love and compassion even with words and art

Don't constrict your heart with rancour and hate
Do all you can so hatred in the world abate

Just a beautiful wording for propagating peace, blessed are the peacemakers!

You are so right we must Squash these hatred bugs or use an insecticide to eliminate these hatred bugs from our brains, hats, trousers, or whatever.......

It so true, we must do our tiny bit in reducing these resentful sensations of hatred from our hearts and our souls, as much as we could, even help the others to understand the uselessness of keeping these hatred feelings into there hearts in the long run.

These distressing feelings of hatred only cause adverse healthy effects in our bodies, especially to the heart and lung or even the colon, because of the excessive usage of prescribed sedative medications.

Unfortunately, I used to try convince the people who are the inmates of mental institutes because of their relatives who put them in that institutes without any reason except to steal their heritage, or the the people who have been put in prisons by false charges, but I found these people unable to accept the idea of forgiveness, and were so reluctant to hug and kiss their enemies passionately.

Yeah i do understand and accept that some resentment and hate is justified , hating tyrants and those who torture is justifiable and unforgivable. This poem was actually referring to the hate against muslims and other innocents as well as the scenario of embittered humans keen on killing their tormentors or even innocents in indiscriminate backlash.
Thanks soo much for your great eloquent comment!

Hate is the foulest of four letter words

      • Goldfinch60

Very good and very true words SZ, hate can only take us down if we all loved life would be so wonderful.

        when we can see past
those divisive lines, 'We corrupted our humanity with':
        of skin colour
        of sexual preferences
        of lifestyle choices
        and especially
        of diverse belief systems
(even accepting those, who choose to not utilise any)
        then, maybe
someday, we 'All - as One' can collectively
start to accept each others worth
by the 'merits of our deeds and words' - alone
        then finally, we can:
'Swat and squash the hate bug
        from your mind and heart
        Promote love and compassion
        even with words and art

        Don't constrict your heart
        with rancour and hate
        Do all you can
so hatred in the world abate'..
        (such a powerful message
        and a wonderful write
        thanks for sharing!)

Thanks soo much for a great comment, yes indeed we all need to look past the differences of diversity and culture to accept and love all without any hate. Religion was meant to unite not divide but if people don't let it unite then we should at least not hate anyone no matter what. Cheers and best wishes,

Sometimes I have to STOP & really concentrate on what is being said, on what I am reading.
This is 1 of those times.
Too often most all are quick to anger in a self righteous way, me also. We want that righteous indignation feeling so we can know we are justified in our anger over a perceived evil.
However Love/Grace/Empathy/Kindness in Truth is the cure all, the vaccine as you put it in your poem.

            Absolutely Great Write, 🐤s.zaynab.kamoonpuri🌷😸

Indeed poet you summed it well, love and kindness cures the maladies of hate. We should speak of what's right without being self righteous yes. Thanks soo much for such a great comment! Cheers!

I think this is one of my favorite poems that you wrote. It is so important that everyone stomp out hate where you see it and not allow ourselves to get caught up in resentments of others. Very special poem.
