Vengeance Vindication

Tune: Aberystwyth

('Jesu, lover of my soul')

Psalm 94 v.14-23 parts

**********

The LORD will not abandon

His people, not e'en one

His inheritance He will

Not forsake, preserve it still

But judgement it shall return

Unto righteousness, and learn

All the upright in heart sure

Shall follow it evermore

Who will rise up for the LORD

Against the evil? His word

Speak to them, or for Him stand

Against evil workers hand?

Unless the LORD had been my

Help, and if He passed me by

My soul would have soon dwelt in

Silence, been downcast within

When I said, My foot slips, your

Mercy, LORD, upheld me sure

In multitude of my thoughts

Your comforts, LORD, me have brought

Delight to my soul, shall throne

Of evil fellowship own

With you, good and gracious King?

No, you shall your judgements bring

The LORD He is my defence

My God, rock of refuge hence

He shall judge righteously, end

Wickedness, His vengeance send

it belongs to Him alone

It by Him perfectly shown

He shall cut off enemies

His rule and reign then all see

      Thanks Gold.
A mystery at times, and we can feel abandoned.
I tried to get the theme of the Psalm - vengeance, but only to the wicked, not to others.
