Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
I will return early January.
I will return early January.
Social isolation….
So I talk to the trees.
They don’t listen to me;
They much prefer the bees.
Still I chat up that tree.
They talk to each other -
(This research on the tree)
So next time I’d rather
Be a tree……or a bee….

Love the Ents in Lord of the Rings. Cheers
Thanks for that, John. Had to google, as I never quite got round to all of L of the R....
Talking to trees makes for a wooden conversation! You should branch out and try flowers Dave.
BTW Bill Evans is awesome
SC yes Bill, Evans i awesome but Chet Baker is more so, I have practically all his albums.
Andy
Flowers woz the sixties, Sax – but you wouldn’t know would you? Too young, you pesky youth… Whereas me ‘n my wooden leg…. mind you I have to apologise for the use of such material – perhaps that’s why they aren’t speaking to me…
Far toooooooo young mate. Fair point Dave it's like eating bacon in front of a pig
But I do try my best, Sax ....try to attract attention. Add a three cornered hat and pop me parrot on me shoulder - sing ' Fifteen men on a dead man's ...' Thought I wuz winning but the next door neighbor turned the hose on me ..Wild corner of suburbia I live in..
Talking with Nature is always wonderful.
Thanks for putting up Chet Baker and Bill Evans.
Andy
My pleasure, Andy - small return for all the music you have introduced me to.
A fine write Dave.
I felt sorry for a tree on a cold night, so brought it indoors. Not a bonzai mini-tree, but an oak. Not much room in the house now! lol.
Such compassion, Orchi - in life, sometimes sacrifice just has to be made..... go to the top of the ......tree.
Men in white coats called for me, when I felt sorry for a lamp post out at night, and brought it indoors to keep it warm! heehee.
Oh you are not so far gone that I can't join you, Orchi - see my thread with Sax here....I think whatever you have is catching (perhaps you should isolate....)
wonderfully whimsical sir
if push came to a shove I think I would rather be a tree 🙂
Somewhere away from axes and chainsaws, Nev. Going to write a dozen stanzas on that theme, but then thought....Nah - spoil the tone.....
Yes trees do talk or at least communicate with each other so I hear and believe. But I think that in their way they are aware of us as well and maybe must maybe it is us that are not aware of them. Great words
