Hope Of Help

Tune: Laus Deo

('Bright the vision that delighted')

Psalm 20 parts

********

The LORD hear you in trouble's day

Answer your prayers, make a way

Through, and name of God defend you

You be in His keeping true

God send help from sanctuary

To you, tend you graciously

Strengthen you out of Zion, see

His Temple residency

God remember your offerings

Sacrifices, all these things

Grant you according to your heart

What it desires in each part

And fulfil your counsel, purpose

We will rejoice, even us

In His salvation, in His name

Set up banners, show His fame

The LORD fulfil your petitions

He will hear us, daughters, sons

Enemies fall, we are risen

Save, LORD, children, women, men

      Question

If God made man in his own image & all men are equal .. where did all those enemies spring from

      Asking for a friend 🙂

        Thanks N.
I would say it all sprang from 'original sin' of Adam and Eve. In some Psalms, the writers seem to claim they are comparatively 'good' to some others who are as 'bad, evil, enemies', who persist in sins (erm, like I persist in singing, but it don't get me anywhere?! lol).

God, the omnipotent, the all knowing - I struggle with sacrifices and offerings and, and and…..

As always your postings are very soothing

Yes, sacrifices and offerings were from Old Testament times. Though today, in New Testament times, the sacrifices and offerings may be more non-physical, or non-tangible things, e.g. a 'sacrifice of praise', in praising when we may not feel like it, and then it is a sort of sacrifice - if this helps?
