Beached Whale Blues

Beached Whale Blues

Beached whale, blubbering waves

High tide saves the day

Good fortune smiles down, for sure

Strange the beaching of whales Nev.
-- your descriptive haiku reminds us of high tide rescue for some while others are the unfortunate ones. Sad eh - - and I am beginning to blubber now...........x

Haiku very much indeed & bless ya too .. this was inspired by my attempting to help such a wonderful creature back into deeper waters .. whilst on holiday in Madeira two years back .. I was not on my own .. there were maybe a dozen of us and yes .. we got the old girl afloat again ...................................................................... 🙂 x

Much of that rescue activity you relate occurs also in Australia, Nev. Dedication required - kudos.Such a turnaround from the old days.
Whale watching now big business - Humpbacks breaching is a spectacular sight - if a little mysterious.

Tradition has it that you complement a superb three liner with a two liner.

That one species should care and help that of another is the sign of compassion and love of life. Well penned N.

Such an event for many in parts of this wonderous world means a bounty of good food and wealth. Today in our climes it is a sad occasion beyond our understanding.
High tide to the rescue indeed but all to often the whale remains.
A puzzling poem for me to dance with possibilities.

Why do they get beached? Is it intentional or an accident - would be nice to learn.
Loved the haiku - I never learnt to compose.

It is such a shame to see those beached whales but there are many who help them get back to their safe environment.

which raises that old zen question ............ does a beached whale die on the shore when there is no one around to see it .................................... Cheers GF60 ..
