Sisters.
Two strokes past midnight and your smile appears
to aid me remember those decades we
shared special secrets, when lad-scores were played
after lights out and torch-story authors gained
treats by scribbling lewd chapters.
Days came for parting and sisters went two ways
one into nursing and one chose the stage
yet we talked over distance then sickness struck
and shoulders were cried on as life came undone
but we fought it with laughter.
Still stored in folders our poemed adventures
for you Sis, gave soul to our girlish pleasures.

what a first line, dear Fay
I have the same yearning
for the brother
I'm yet to meet, (metaphorically, that is);
such a great read!
Your comments are always so welcomed and delight me with snippets of thinking on the chosen subject so thank you a load L.B. for yet another encouraging review.
Made me think of my two granddaughters and how different they are yet how close they are. The future is theirs to step in all the same puddles each generation has splashed.
Yes Dusk quite differing natures need not bar sisters from being close and as you know with your growing granddaughters they will both have the same challenges as previous generations but no doubt will tackle them each in their own way.
The bond between Sisters is a strong and unbreakable union. Excellent write Dear Fay. đź‘Ť
So pleased your enjoyed the read my friend.
Good write, Fay.
I was blessed with two sisters, am the better man for it.
Ah - - lovely you think that way dear Jerry - - mixed genders can either make or break any union between them as life presents challenges. So glad you used the blessed in regard to your own sister my friend.
Sisters are truly wonderful…
They share the same blood… same world
Ah - how wise and true are your thoughts on sisters dear Prem........ they share so many things that bind them together.
Sisters, brothers, siblings or friends
It’s a joy to be able to recall any relationship if presented in such words as yours
Agreed Suresh - - and relationship can enhance those who cling to right ways of dealing one with the other - how caring can widen the scope is the thought I tried to bring out in Sisters. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment.
Good words Fay, I have a brother but no sisters and we get on so very well even after all these many years.

I don't have any biological sisters myself, but sisterhood I've learned is something you can cultivate and beautiful in it's own right. This reminds me of the saying “the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb”
A truly inspiring saying Hannah and thank you for introducing me to it's depth. Sisterhood as you rightly mention can be beautiful for more reasons than blood.-ties. Am so pleased that reading Sisters helped to inspire your meaningful and very welcome comment.
