Mirror Poet

Saxon Crow

When I write I write for me
But what you read it's not me you see
The words that are written from my heart
Are translated and made meaning into the readers part
But i love to watch as the magic unfolds
I can write you my truth
And still be unknown
Because what I mean is a subjective thing
I can open the door
But you can't come in
Words are like colours of many shades
But mostly they're indefinable layers of grey
So when you read what I write
Should you choose to read what I write
Just know that what you see and feel
Is your own self actually reading you
And so as poets we're in a unique position
To step away from personal supposition
And should we want we can choose to learn
That words have more meaning than can be read or heard

So very true SC, words can be so meaningful in so many differing ways.

You have nailed it in this impresive piece Sax - - we get something special to ourselves when we read - - -or write - poetry. First rate scribing my friend.

      Thanks Fay. Very much appreciated

Good advice, interesting write there Sax. Only caveat I have is this:
Poetry comes in all shapes and sizes. Some (many) are word pictures about nature and so on, misery or….love…..for example. Most noncontroversial.
Some can be ‘sociopolitical’ as MPS calls it. Those are not there for acceptance of difference they are presented for debate and clarification.
This is not to subvert the meaning of your piece , which I think is very valid….just saying….

Cheers Dave and fair point mate

When you see yourself in another's art, you truly make a connection with that person. That's what happened here with me. Nicely penned.
