Tune: Camberwell
(one tune to 'At the name of Jesus')
Psalm 98
********
Sing the LORD a new song
Praise Him day, night long
For He has done marvels
And our gloom dispels
His right hand, and holy
Arm, strength, it so be
Has gained Him victory
For eternity
The LORD He has made known
Salvation, it shown
And too shown righteousness
Of His, He will bless
Shown among the nations
All earth's daughters, sons
He remembered mercy
And truth faithfully
He recalls His people
Remembers them all
All ends of earth have seen
His works fervent, keen
Have seen the salvation
Unto each nation
Salvation of God, see
E'er effective be
Make a joyful noise to
The LORD, praise anew
All the earth make loud noise
Adopt worship poise
Rejoice and sing praises
Each sweet song raises
Join all you instruments
And His presence sense
Harps and lyres and psalms be
Sung with melody
Trumpets, cornets make sound
That His praise redound
For He the LORD, the King
Ruler o'er each thing
Creation too join, for
He great God is sure
All in earth, sea, and sky
Creatures far and nigh
Rivers, streams, and hills stir
Joyful together
Before the LORD, for He
Comes to judge earth, see
Righteously judges He
Folk with equity

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.5.6.5. 6.5.6.5. metre. The Psalm is also called 'Cantate Domino'. Nothing to do with dominoes, but meaning 'Sing to the Lord'. I'm gonna sing - but it can't be helped! lol.

Thanks Neville. Yes, me too, from school days. With this tune there was an introduction of seven notes at the start of each verse. A sort of countdown. All very technical. Not that I'm a music expert!
As long as you don't sing Orchi all will be well.
Andy
Thanks Gold. lol.
