The character I became in a play I didn't write has made his final curtain call
However no accolades shall be given, no rave reviews or awards
Instead I'll sweep the stage clean before making a hasty exit stage left
The lines written were hard to learn because they were full of truth about things that weren't real.
There was no congruence and i could not immerse myself in the role
The other actor who shared the stage was sometimes over dramatic and prone to mad improvisation.
It was hard to keep up and without any prompts to the well rehearsed lines, now scattered to the four corners of the theatre, meaning became meaningless
In the end all the hard work was for nought, the characterization became shallow and unbelievable, and the story ended in silence as the audience were left confused.
And so, the stage now clean and disassembled, the role I created laid to rest, I leave the theatre
With each step moving away I become once again myself and remember who I am
And I hope I will never play a part like that ever again

One is trying GF
But was it an actor on a stage.....or.... Either way an engaging piece , as I've come to expect of your work, Sax
Put. It down to readers choice! Thanks Dave
If we had no shadows in our Past
we couldn't be hopeful
of finding something better, brighter
in our dreamed tomorrow's...
(really liked the concept of merging
two versions of self, the now
and the regretted past, but maybe
some direct dialogue
between the two poetic voices
would add more depth;
such an intriguing read, thank you!
and those first few lines flowed effortlessly)

Thanks LB. Love your comments
A play so many of us have starred in. Excellently penned Sax. 👍
Thanks AP. Meet you at the baftas!
Sounds like a plan Sax. 😉
Omg this was absolutely incredible, I wrote one just like this once but no where near as magnificent you made this! My very life dancing in front of me, the opening line made me sit up and take note. As I followed to the end I was glad for each role that I took and will execute my final day's on my stage. ...100% my way!
Thanks for doing yours 😉
One of a kind!
Thanks buddy. As ever, much appreciated and what a path we share!
A thrilling drama about life and its lessons being played out and need for learning where decisions quickly made could make all the difference to our role....... a compelling read Sax.
A good one Sax. A play full on sound and fury...
Thanks Trenz
