Omens

Fay Slimm.

Omens.

I chased this evening evening's parade,

woven-framed patterns of

tin-foiled filigree, gilt-tied

to greenery's final attempt to beat fade.

I watched as light lightened pale sky,

viewed universe-fired display

night's birthing dance

turning black into starry-eyed silence.

I saw change changing ether-haze hue

to dusk-covered eeriness

creeping round sickle-shaped

moon-smile thru' dull-as-dust gloom.

I heard in day's goodbye goodbye's solo

purple-trailed, scarlet-dyed,

gold-streaked striped azure sung

in lunar duet with dark's rising crescendo.

I knew tonight tonight's black feelings

 on sunset-divide, cloned-omens

 from cauterized colours

spoke to my waiting canvas so clearly.

Beautiful art turned into words Fay.

    • Fay Slimm.

So kind of you to say so my friend and thank you indeed.

How do you put words together and structure them to produce such richly embroidered tapestry, Fay?

      • Fay Slimm.

Ah you spoil me by asking how I write as I do Dave - all I can say is that I close my eyes and unconditionally surrender to versifying my style of embroidery - - hope this helps........

        • Doggerel Dave

Nah - doesn't at all Fay. How do I operationalise that?
I had no particular wish to spoil (as in hurt) you - I was trying to spoil your magic, and obtain something out of the remains to use myself. And of course, I failed completely................

share, and share it again dear Fay
your poetry, gets better with every read
          (in my humble opinion)
          'I saw change, changing
          ether-haze hue to dusk-covered, eeriness
          creeping, round sickle-shaped moon-smile
          thru' dull-as-dust gloom.

          I heard in day's goodbye: goodbye's, solo
          purple-trailed, scarlet-dyed, gold-streaked
          striped, azure sung
in lunar duet, with dark's rising crescendo. '

these words have just found their ever home .. I note how comfortable they sit here ... and my guess is that if they could, they would be smiling with us too .....

While all I can muster is ooooh! and aaaah! to my favorite scene of the day, your words breathes it life
