I came,
I saw,
I conquered.
The balls flew
Across the lawn,
Through the hoops,
Beating my opponents,
Until one was left,
A good friend,
I beat him,
Won the tournament.
I came,
I saw,
I conquered,
And left
With the trophy.

Good write Andy.
I was about eight hours singing, but I didn't win anything!
Thanks Orchi.
I am not surprised, was anybody left there to hear you.

Do you get your gold lettered name on the Wall of Fame in the club house, Andy? I really like the unabashed pride in your achievement you exhibit here.
The form your poem takes definitely has trophy like qualities - that took hard work didn't it?
I wish Dave, the members of my club did all congratulate me and some took me out for a pint.

lol
Congrats, Andy
I'm guessing, you'll be having
a weekend, with a spring
in your step...
I will be springing all weekend Mek. Thank you.
Andy
Congratulations that man! Smug rights galore
Thank you SC,. Smug rights indeed.

It’s a fallacy to believe we compete for the sake of playing, but rather we play for the sake of competing - so hurray for your win!
True Suresh, when I am competing seriously I am a different person.

Good you you Andy. Keep on winning.
Thank you Trenz, I will always try to win but always be respectful if I lose.

The champion we all knew you are Andy. 😉
Most kind AP, thank you.

Really much to meditate on - nicely penned.
