I saw a snake snuggled between the rocks
Hiding in the shade
I saw a bear raiding a bin
In the early evening
I saw mosquito's the size of houses
Swarming like a blizzard
In a Canadian summer
I saw howler monkeys
Swinging too and fro
I saw macaws brightly colored
Singing for all the world to hear
I saw the blue of the ocean
In a Costa Rican summer
I saw lush forests and arid deserts
I saw great wonders of the world
I even climbed to the top
I ate the most sensational food
On a Peruvian veranda
I holidayed when young by the Indian ocean
Where the tide receded far out
Then i sailed by dingy back
I ate tray fulls of prawns
Garlic, Peri Peri and butter
Mozambique where the sea is blue
I remember enormous boulders
Wild bush and wild animals
My kind of place in very warm places
I remember the Victoria falls
The spray cooling me down
Rhodesia was once a fabulous place
My list is endless
As I explore all before me
Across the globe
I have family
And that is my Gold.
