Upon the Arms of Favourite Chairs

Neville

Upon the Arms of Favourite Chairs

If life was always warm and worn smooth

like these ancient steps are worn smooth

and the arms of our favourite chairs ..

Then surely, there would be nowhere else

for us my love .. and maybe we might

just both curl up and stay like this for always ..

Long-time relationships can get that way where comfort comes first -- but passion that never fades to boredom makes use of worn steps, worn chairs and all manner of exciting positions methinks. Am smiling at this weekend bit of deep whimsy on which to ponder and imagine some more................x

Yes – the rough was tolerable when I was young, but wondered why it had to be: the later years and the smooth, comfortable is something I’ll always be grateful for, as I no longer have the energy….

                    Neville,

Aah the feeling of love, of safety, and of contentment once the arms of one chair are shared with your loved one.

I enjoyed this wonderful reminder of two hearts beating as one.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
