Looking back into the history of this world
There have been so many wars,
So many people killed,
Sent out by others who did not care,
Did not care about their minions dying,
No thought of grieving families.
They just sent them out to gain power,
Power for themselves.
Looking back on those times
Those in power never cared
That they had created a new race in our world,
Showing that their actions
Created generations of disposable people.

A thoughtful write Gold.
They wished they could dispose of my singing, but it can't be done!
Thanks Orchi.
and many sent out to stop evil from a minority gaining that power I guess and until human nature evolves as much as science it will sadly ever be the same.
So true Vive - maybe one day?
Andy
deep, meaningful and sadly, so bloomin true .. N
Unfortunately so Neville. May be one day all will be well.

Yes, cannon fodder as they say. It seems one cannot defend against the evil oppressor without sending out cannon fodder. Old blood and guts Churchill, voted the greatest of Britains by a large margin at the turn of the century, was guilty of having disposables to sacrifice.
War is disgusting and only ever results in bringing forth empty never again promises of learned wisdom, only to be cast aside by the next generation.
Very provokative writing from you today sir.
So true, the Musical Director of the. Choir that I am in is livid about how Churchill has been honoured.
It was just a line that I picked up from Data in Star Trek TNG and it got me thinking.

wonderfully different, Andy
and ever so timely, poignant...
the word Diaspora: will soon be extinct
if mother nature can't be pacified
and who, pray tell - caused Nature's fury
to become exasperated so quickly;
we're less than a quarter of a millennium
since the industrial era began
or less than half a millennium, since
the Spanish started messing
with the Incas mines, and polluted
the Andes
with their profiteering, lead dust..
how quickly
our failing's: undermine, all our great achievements
Thank you Mek, very true.

Serried ranks of white crosses in France tell much of the WW1 story, Andy. That those dead were ever 'glorious' is of course absolute codswallop.
But also there is no better way of sorting internal problems within a Nation State than finding an enemy without……
Thanks for your comment Dave but maybe that enemy is within.
Andy
I'm sure it is, Andy - which is why as I say, the attention is drawn to an enemy outside. I've named this in one of my previous pieces, misdirection.
So can you name, for the sake of clarity, that internal enemy of yours?
All that seek power for themselves at the cost of others.
Andy
Very true GF. But still people join armies
True SC but it may be a ways of getting away from or more mundane way of life.
Andy
It sure does seem that life has become a cheap commodity in our modern world and this fine piece describes the moment perfectly.
True Coyote, those in power only want thing for themselves and other have to pay for it.
Andy
So sad that modern man hasn't learned the lesson of wars past. That power of man is more important and valuable then love of man. So very well penned Andy.
Love of man - now that's a novel idea for those in power. Thank you AP.
Andy
So true Andy. Thanks. 😉
