There is a world in darkness of the night
Most of us are strangers to that land
Children of the light
We dare not question shadows
So slip through green fields and flowers
Accept the Sun as home
And when he closes the door
Pull the curtains tight
Set flame to the candle
And wait

heart-breaking, knowing
that although this may at a glance
seem, just like some words of haunting poetry
to some
its a searing - inked depiction
of their everyday: reality...
(a necessary write!
thanks for sharing dear poet)
How sad to have to live in the dark. Thank you LB.
Love it.
Good write Lorna.
You lit that candle?!
Do it all the time Orchi! And you'll be pleased. I'm not Catholic but my husband was and I've taken to going to sit in the Church and light candles for him - it's very peaceful.
