Perfectly Hued
If all we could see was
perfectly hued ..
Shaded in silver
shadowed and blued
As comfortably snug
as your old
quilted jacket
and well-worn pair
of handmade brogues ..
With all to be gained
and nothing to lose
We would surely
never again dream of
closing our eyes to the world ..

An appealing thought rtdes upon your words this fine wednesday but..... would I trade my dreams for the world to be so, shaped?
Nay sir, open eyed and i say nay sir. My dreams are a wonder for my inner eye only and mine alone. They are the wit of my poetry and i shall take them with me to journeys end.

"Perfectly hued," is of itself a dream. Even a world without people, still must contend with the nastiness of Nature. A day might be so hued during the daylight hours, but then there is the darkness, and the world is full of predators and prey, storms and disasters, angry seas, unbearable temperatures, etc.
"If" begins your poem and it is a mighty big word, but accepting the impossible as possible, it would be a beautiful dream come true, such that we could surely never close our eyes again.
Your poem presents a view to the world and to the nature of man that we all wish to be true. It is food for thought served on fine china. It is appetizing to the palate and honey to the taste. Loved it! - Phil A.
