Refreshing Rest

orchidee

Tune: St Clement

('The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended')

Mark 6 v.31

*********

Come you yourselves apart, rest a while

From work you have done, extra mile

Whate'er it be in service to me

Jesus said, Come now, refreshed be

For where they were, many came and went

Disciples needed rest, relent

From their endeavours, good though they be

We cannot toil on endlessly

Revive us, Lord, strengthen us as we

Take comfort, relaxation, see

In peace communing with you, Saviour

Confident of salvation sure

Then when returning to our labours

In your harvest-field, each one shares

Empower us with your Spirit to

Go forth, evangelise anew

Retaining peace in our minds and hearts

Your presence in our lives, all parts

With wisdom guide us, waking each day

Know you more, the Life, Truth, and Way

Thanks Lorna. Oh sometimes I go on about punishment of the wicked, etc. Or do I pick out the 'nice bits'?!

        • Lorna

Well you pick out the nice bits and God (assuming he is so powerful) can take care of the others....... he'll always consider you one of the nice bits - as do we......... hee hee.

Well I'm afraid if I was a wicked one (perhaps I am) you wouldn't scare me very much. And what are you doing eating chocolate for breakfast?
