They are all around us
But we just do not know,
They keep to themselves,
Not interfering,
Not doing anything to others.
To others they seem uninteresting
But would bring no harm.
Those lonely people are all around us
But we just do not know,
And us not knowing cannot help them.
Even a smile or a hello from us
Can mean so much to them.
But those lonely people must try,
Try and realise,
Realise that the world is full of lonely people
Who frightened to make the first move.
So smile to all those you see,
It could bring a new spark of life to them.

a smile costs nothing, does it .. but can lighten the darkness of a souls dull day .. whereas a hello or how are you can be worth a fortune and penetrate a lonely persons sense of solitude and associated gloom ...
You got it write again my golden friend ... pitched perfectly sir Andy 🙂
A smile and an hello certainly costs nothing but they may help others.
Than k you Neville.

Good write Gold.
I read a bit ages ago. It was a bit sharp, including bits that said some lonely people bring it on themselves, and that they should 'get their coat and get out more'. Well, it did not use those exact words at the end (ooh. lol).
Thanks Orchi.
Some people just do not care.

it only takes, one kind gesture
to save someone
from drowning in their own
self-sabotaging vicious cycle,
and loneliness is a feeling
we all can relate with, at some level,
an important message
thanks for sharing Andy
(I always think of Phil Collins
and his song 'Another Day in Paradise')
Thank you Mek it is so easy just to make a simple kind gesture to others.
Andy
One smile can infect another, and then each smile infecting more and more. How wonderful it would be if everyone was smiling. Great write Andy. 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Very true AP, smile and the world smiles with you.

So right you wise old bean. I live a lone life but, happy with my own company, I'm not lonely. Always ready to smile or strike up a conversation when the opportunity arises. That's going to be a rare occasion now because I' about to start more Chemo which means I have to stay away from people (it weakens immune system).
Wise words indeed, I do enjoy my chance encounters either way.
May that Chemo bring you back into a wonderful life where you can encounter all d a, maybe even me.
