You sit there and you watch it go.
When young . It seemed to go to slow .
A lot of it was spent on play .
The darkness came and took the day .
To lay at night and watch the stars .
And hear the sound of distant cars .
A kiss frrom mom. A hug from dad .
To close my eye's it made me sad .
I'm older now . I understand .
You can't win this race . It's out of hand .
No holding back . No slowing down .
It just speeds up by leaps and bounds .
You can't see it as it passes by.
I don't care how hard you try .
It catches up . It's alway's there .
Right on your heels . Theres none to share .
These hands you watch are never stopping .
Seconds, minutes . Hours dropping .
You can lose it . You can find it .
You can never get enough of it.
All because of time.

- Comment from author about the poem: I have found that time passes a lot faster as we get older. And there is no way to slow it down . But enjoy it while you can.

Awesome write here ep. I know this feeling so well. I notice the time going by faster than ever. And I know it's only because I'm older and very busy as an adult, but what I wouldn't give for a bright sunny day from my childhood, 😎
I wish I could go back to 1965 . I was fifteen and I got my first kiss from a little blonde in Darlington. Maryland . Her name was Carol Sue. Yes .1965 was a very good year. Thank you AP. For reading and commenting. You have a good night.
1965 a very good year. Reminds me of the Frank Sinatra song. 😊
Each moment in our lives has been and will be so important TEP, we are of an age to realise this. What I don't understand with time is the different speeds it has, if we are enjoying ourselves it just flashes by, if we are not enjoying ourselves it just drags on forever.
Andy

He had some great songs. You have a good day AP.
I have a fascination with timepieces, but I kind of hate them too; counting down every second as they were made to do. Enjoyed this one - thank you!
