Tune: Richmond
('City of God, how broad and far')
Acts 14 v.11-17
********
At Lystra, Paul and Barnabas
The gods have come to us
So said the people when man lame
Was healed, to him they came
Paul and Barnabas they did say
Sirs, why you act this way?
We be not gods, but men like you
With humanity true
And we preach to you, that you turn
From these vain things and learn
That God He is the God living
Who has made every thing
Heaven and earth, and too the sea
All things that in them be
Who in times past He did allow
Us walk own ways, yet now
Now see, he did leave us witness
Of how He would us bless
In doing good, and giving rain
From heaven, then sun again
And too giving seasons fruitful
Providing unto all
Filling our hearts with food, gladness
Hs graces shown, no less
