I wish I had
The power
to change the world;
to erase all the grief,
poverty, sufferings, sickness...
to bring happiness
to everyone...
The power to spread
kindness and empathy.
I wish I could be
A ray of sunlight
A ray of hope
shining gold and pure
showing the right path;
A sliver of moonlight
lighting up the dark paths;
A crystal star
shining like a beacon of hope..

- Comment from author about the poem: I am so affected by what's happening all around us, seeing the news and seeing the people, women, children and the babies suffering, it's breaking my heart. Right now I can only pray for them. The sufferings, the uncertainty, the loss, it's horrible. God help all those people who have no place to go to. A fervent wish and prayer!
