Tune: Aurelia
('The church's one foundation')
Psalm 91 v.1-7
*********
Courage, confidence, for they
That do dwell in their day
In secret place of most High
They shall know the LORD nigh
Resting under His shadow
He Almighty, they know
His wings outspread, abide here
Beneath His presence dear
I will say of the LORD, He
My refuge, fortress be
My God, in Him will I trust
Though I am man, mere dust
Surely he shall deliver
You from the bird's trapper
As if from snare of fowler
He shall save you that hour
And from pestilence, peril
Or deadly plague, come, call
Upon Him, He shall cover
You save with His feathers
Under His wings your refuge
Shall be, thus take courage
His truth your shield and buckler* (*small shield)
He to your help shall stir
You shall be afraid no time
Throughout life's way and rhyme
Whether it terror of night
Or in the daytime bright
Nor fear plague of the darkness
Nor of the day no less
Promise, it not come near you
The LORD shall keep you true
