a summer night

dusk arising

a summer night
found us sat
beneath the stars
staring up in wonder
our insignificance
soothing troubles

truly, subtle be the ways of the universe
    our simple everyday, actions
tried and trusted routine pleasures, gifting
    our wondrous memory mementos
    of momentary, solace
because of the 'who' - with
and not - the what, of our actions..
a brilliantly atmospheric treat of poetic brevity,
    thanks Dusk, a wonderfully romantic
    bank holiday morning, read

Thank you LBM. There are many things around which bring to mine just what unimportant specs of life we are, the stars I think surpass them all.

Yes it's lovely to be nobody I think.......... safer too.

      • dusk arising

LOL Lorna, that's my one accolade, I'm a nobody poet and ever shall be.... funny what motivates us to write though isn't it.... like something which has to be released.

        • dusk arising

Thank you Florence J. I think anyone who has sat beneath the stars and just gazed into the vastness of universe would feel that insignificance.... for me it's a great leveller.

Yes wonder is normal if we but stop and stare for a while at the glory of starlight that the summer night affords us at times dear D. - a beautifully peaceful feel to the read.

            • dusk arising

Peaceful yes indeed but chilly under those stars... we scurry home for a bit of warmth where hopefully the electric bill and council tax bill take on a new hue. Do badgers and foxes or even the humble sheep feel so affected... on second thoughts ive never seen a badger in the council tax queue so maybe not.

Thank you sir, and long may there be a special star which shines her light to light your way.
