Sugar Baby

Lorna

Sometimes I wish I could drink

I have enough of Scotland in me

You'd think it would come naturally

But no

Oh I have experienced the thrill

Of forcing the issue and feeling ill

Or sipping a tall one then gripping the wall

As the world around me was blissfully high

But it's just as well I must admit

That I won't be drinking my calories

I'll put them aside for another treat

Like something decadently sweet

    Great little tune there, Lorna
I'll vote for alcohol in very measured amounts any time. There's a very narrow window of opportunity there to feel warm and peaceful but not pissed. Sweets? Nah. Insulin dependent diabetes for almost forty years - all good, the discipline keeps me straight.
Fun write. Utilising a long ago but not forgotten episode or two in my youth, I know that word 'thrill' is dripping with irony.........

I remember someone ordering me a mai tai once and the flower that was floating in it started breathing while I watched after about 10 sips. Freaky.........

        Yeh - freaky......

Make mine a double in a dirty glass .. everything in moderation, except for some things .. maybe .... silly me 🙂
