Jerusalem Journey

Tune: St Fulbert

('Ye choirs of new Jerusalem')

Psalm 122

***********

I was glad when they said to me

Let us go, come now, see

Into the house of the LORD, for

We shall stand there, 'tis sure

His house at Jerusalem be

A city compactly

Built together, it firm and strong

We sing with joyful song

The people of the LORD there go

To His Temple, and show

Their praise to Him, and thanks Him give

The LORD, who e'er does live

For there are set thrones of judgement

Of justice, discernment

Pray for Jerusalem its peace

That conflicts, troubles cease

They shall prosper who the city

Do love, so shall it be

Peace be within your walls, and too

Your palaces anew

For sakes of brethren, companions

To human daughters, sons

I will now say, Peace be in you

I shall seek your good true
