O aspiring poet – thanks for your call;
You came to show us your work – is that all?
Here’s your first poem – on what, may I ask?
I cannot read it – I’m not up to this task:
All about Nature Love or Suicide?
With irregular spacing, you decide.
And no need to bother with other’s work -
That will be one task so easy to shirk.
No background no context do you provide;
It stands alone, a masterpiece, you decide.
Nothing about you – moving right along
To yet another site with its call so strong…….

Hmmmmm? OK. Nice rant.
Yes - that woz all it woz - eased the irritations for five minutes....
You are really upto the task. May be not a master piece but you are really upto the task. A beautiful read. Thanks for sharing
You don't have to tell me I'm up to the task twice - I may get a big head.... At the same time I can see that you feel I should (not a masterpiece) try harder. Thanks for the crit - always welcome.
LOL so many of us will know the thoughts expressed here having seen 'poems' appearing from 'poets' who don't appear to be interersted in reading anyone elses poetry, let alone daring to actually comment or join in. Should we feel honoured to be graced with such offerings? I must admit the one's who disply their OCD to post religious rants (poetry?) do tempt me to light their blue touch paper and watch the fireworks.
Gave me a big smile.
Glad of that, Dusk. If I managed to dish out a few smiles to old timers such as you, the whole enterprise was worthwhile.
Some things never change on this site. It’s no wonder why so many awesome poets like Santita and Unsub left. I came back because I love Boaz’s poems, and the freedom to use all the benefits this site offers at no charge.
I don’t want to play games again here. I have a career, children and grandchildren. I’ll post what I want, when I want. You and others should understand that many of us are not retired and don’t have time for this place. Please don’t criticize others when you haven’t walked in their shoes.
Sorry Dave, I’ve got my rants too.

I’ve seen this before although I guess all we can do is read and comment . I’m not sure why some people simply hardly comment on others work . I’ve been on a site before called cosmofunnel ... started getting comments on my work to then hardly receive any . I did comment on others work.
I don't know where you have seen it before - I did it this morning yrose.
I’ve seen this lack of commenting before .. that’s what I meant .

Reading your comment to d a's post I too am an old timer and thank you for the fun you bring to me.
Andy
You are very welcome, Andy - You both are.
If no one (certain poets) don't comment on our poems, they probably won't have read them.
So we tend to forget about those poets, and not read their poems either.
Don't know where this obsession with comment came from. As I mentioned above, 'Within the confines of this short poem, I was not actually alluding to commentary yrose, but rather where these fly-by-nights have a ‘Poems read’ score of zero'.
For thirty or forty five minutes this rant of a write matches my own frustration with those who post to just show off their work - - - -but these do not last I keep telling myself. Thanks for the smile Dave albeit wry.
They don't, Fay - and that is half the problem....I find myself compelled to click on the new ones on my way up the listings in order to encourage. Now much more ruthless: No context in comments to add to the entry; no 'about me'; no poems read - no encouragement from me - mostly.
Never mind that - thanks for the encouragement I get from you.
