Technology Passed.

Goldfinch60

So technology has caught up,

Caught up with the past.

They are postulating about wind power,

Wind power for naval craft.

But surely that is what we had?

Or did HMS Victory

Have an engine?

Wot goes around comes around - or something, Andy - until there's a becalming. Hope you are prepared to get out and push.
Fisherman's Friends are great - see the movie?

    • Goldfinch60

It certainly does Dave. My pushing days are over, I get the staff to just push me along, you know how it is.

I certainly have seen the film and when I put this song on I thought that I would now watch it again.

        Stop Press, Andy:

The US, Uk and Australia have agreed to a joint project to adopt wind powered submarine technology.

Cutting edge, up to date information which may not have come your way yet.

We was on HMS Victory, weren't we? I mucked it up for Nelson, didn't I, if I remember correctly?! lol.

        • Goldfinch60

You certainly did Orchi , but I got you in the brigg before we lost the battle.

            Yes, I laughed as well.

Nature is so much nicer than technology

            • Goldfinch60

              So very true yellowrose.

              lol, its all cyclical
you want to understand how the most influential governments were cultivated in history, follow the paths of the wind power maximising, shipping routes
that created the economy belts, that still govern most trade relations today...
              a fun read, thanks Andy

                Thank you Mek, very true.

Well, if we had hurricane winds, them navy crafts may have a problem! Lol I think itโ€™s more alien power! Creating lift out of mid air

                  Thank you Dove.

                  Great write, Andy.

Electric cars bug me at the moment Andy. It's so fkkn middle class. You need a driveway to charge the damn thing up overnight..... If u live in terraced housing and/or only have on street parking (how many millions of car owners have to rely on 'on street parking') - how you going to charge your car up overnight when it's parked round the corner etc.

I love your poem and the mind boggles at wind powered carrier (blown out of the water by a nuclear sub, having been becalmed for months at sea ).

Fishermens Friends the lozenge. Always reminds me of when the very gay Julian Clary's voice suddenly became very hoarse and he quipped " I think i shall have to go into the wings and suck a fishermans friend".

                    • Goldfinch60

I completely agree with your issues about electric cars, how can most people charge them but the thing that I think is worse is that you cannot hear them coming.

When I gave up smoking 39 years 11months 1 day ago I started eating Fishermens Friends for a while.

I think I saw the same story (didn't read it though). The photo looked like the carrier in the Avengers movie. I doubt it'll ever become a reality. Well penned my friend.

Nor do I AP, but if we did go back to sailing craft the world might be a more pleasant place.
