A world apart.

Canticle

Her subtle touch holds the intensity

of crackling thunder coursing through my veins.

Feeling her heartbeat between my fingers

and her unending grip; protects me.

I whispered in her ear,

"Hold on tight," with her tears running down my shoulder.

A quiet hum of a song, she hums with me.

Slowly swaying in the wind singing along to its whistles,

crisp, cool, comfy.

She doesn't want to let go.

I caress her face and look her in the eyes,

I can see for a thousand miles,

as the pools of her pupils enlarge,

I can see the stars.

I would tear the world apart,

just to feel the beat of her heart.
