Natures Gymnopodie.

Goldfinch60

There I was

Just sitting in a chair,

The glory of Nature

Shining around me.

Lunch eaten

Coffee to hand.

The morning spent

Showing newcomers

The Art of Croquet.

Great fun,

Many laughs

Had by all.

Such sincere thanks

When they came to the end,

Off they went.

There was I,

On my own,

Sitting in a chair,

At home with Nature.

Nature’s green land

Surrounding me.

There were few bird sounds

So I uplifted my life

By listening,

Listening to Satie.

His Gymnopedies sailed

Sailed through my heart

To join Nature’s realm,

Augmenting its wonderful glory.

Your verse oozes peace and what a number to relax with dear Andy

I was at peace and wrote this where I was sitting by the croquet lawns.

Satie's work is so simple yet so beautiful. Written for ease of play for children yet these gymnopodies manage to have such depth of feeling.
They also sound great upon flute.

It certainly is beautiful d a, so much can be heard in so little. I have played them on clarinet and that sounds quite good as well.

You do fill this place with some lovely music and frame these nicely with your words.
