Requiem for a Father

Gino

A pale

moonlight

casts

over weep

As

the bottomless sea

excavates

at the deep

Kneeling

in doubt,

as a cloud

of disillusion

hangs

over the depth

'O’ father

as I weep now

I ask myself

What now,

and why did you have to go'?

When it hurts so much

to not have you

in my life',

...Must I now go on

without you,

into the void?',

Lingering

at the knee,

as a blue light

fades

the illusion

of pain

Left wanting,

filled with sadness

as eyes

well up

the vacancy

of the night

Pleading

on a prayer

in the dismal

of sorrows,

as moments

cascade

loving memories

embraced

at the fall

Heartbroken,

and bewildered

at the thorn,

as the span

of eternity

hovers over

a timeline of loss

Holding on

to every word

cherished

at the crux,

as time

dishevels

into tears

Seemingly

sleeping

in an open-casket view

biding

a tearful farewell

in between

loss and wake

‘til

we meet again

in paradise,

and understand

all this,

for I’ll always

love you

Thank you dad,

for always being there

guiding us

through thick and thin

And thank you

for being

a wonderful father

and for all those beautiful

memories

left behind

that time could never fade

For you have

stored treasures

to reflect,

and will live on

forever in our hearts,

'O' dad,

I'm going to

dearly reminisce

the candor

of your songs

blent by the passion

of your words

filling a nostalgia

within the beauty

of your youth

that always held us together

So goodbye father,

I miss you more

than words could describe,

...Still sojourning

in shades of blue

shielded

at the faith

Translucent,

yet still disguised

at the break,

for a love

we used to share

As the dawn

unceremoniously

blights out

the bitter darkness

fated

at the cross

For patterns

of life

shed and evening

plight,

unveiling

a somber sunrise

from a wake

of mourning blues

Beautiful loving words for you father Gino, he will always be in your life as mine is in mine and he died 26 years ago.
