Tying shoelaces,
Bending down
My knee hurt.
A little dart of pain
And suddenly
Past memories.
Those already gone.
A reminder,
I smiled within
How precious each moment
Every breath of life
Each painful step
And I rise up
As on eagles wings
To lofty mansions
Beyond the dream
To that city paved with gold
and quiet peace.

So true Eugene, every moment in our life is so precious, enjoy them all.
Andy
Thank you Andy. Precious is the word.
Great poem . The past can hurt so much , but we can rise up .., or hopefully can . I really like how you mentioned the eagles wings and the city paved with gold .
