The Angel’s Words

The Angels Words

I sat upon my front porch,
And cursed a lousy day.
Then an angel  appeared beside me,
And had some things to say.

Your lousy day included,
A job that stressed your mind.
Yet others search with all their heart,
For work of any kind.

Your lousy day included,
A meal of simple fare.
While countless woke this morning,
With only cupboards bare.

Your lousy day included,
A bit of summer flu.
While others woke with cancer,
And don’t know what to do.

Your lousy day included,
Too many texts and calls.
While others sit in lonely cells,
And talk to only walls.

Your lousy day included,
Burdens from all you do.
But you have friends and family,
That love you just for you.

The angel looked me in the eye,
And asked how was my day.
I’m blessed, I’m blessed, I’m blessed, I’m blessed,
Was all that I could say.

        Amen!
        a great write!
        (when, we can cherish
        those 'simple' gifts of life
we begin, to realise: our Dreams
aren't too far, out of reach...!)

Thank you. I need reminding how lucky I am sometimes and the poem gives me
          perspective.

A perspective everyone needs reminding of from time to time. Excellently penned crossmanw.
