Bargaining

Jerry Reynolds

Something’s wrong
I can feel it
Hiding inside a sunny day.

Trees burning,
People drowning
We’ve had our better days.

Ice is melting
Earth is shifting
Nature doesn’t love us anymore.

Crimes of diversion
By us, and our fathers
Brought shame to her doors.

What held it together
In good and bad weather,
Through grieving moved away.

Sadly she cleans another of many,
Good starts, with bad endings
Unless, we woo her love today.

Homo sapiens is killing Mother earth and although the leaders in our world know this they will not do anything about it if it takes any money or power from them.

Or they know it is already to late and they are keeping the panic to a manageable level for as long as they can.
