I Love You Anyway

daydreaming

Ever since the day we met
I remember people said
If I were you, I stay away
But I loved you anyway.

We went for it one summer day
The signs were right in front of me
I still refused to walk away
Because I loved you anyway.

I hoped my love could somehow fix
The things that felt so out of place
I chose to look the other way
Because I loved you anyway.

You are the risk I had to take
Despite the price I had to pay
I sometimes couldn’t stand the pain
But I loved you anyway.

I know that things did not end well
But I still do it all again
My love for you will never end
‘Cause I still love you anyway…

That love will be there forever Ed as love can conquer all.

I really liked how you utilised repetition with purpose,
and as I've experienced something similar it was easy for me to relate to the subtle desperation, in the emotive elements of your write,

You are very welcome. I lived the happiest and the most painful years of my life, 18 years to be exact, with him. He passed away in 2017. Nothing will ever be the same without him.
