The day had come,
That very special day
Where live jazz
Came back,
Back into my life.
So many months waiting
To go back to the club.
The band came on,
As that first note was played
A smile came to my face.
That smile was there,
There all the time.
I looked around
And all were smiling
As the band played,
Played the jazz,
The jazz that we all loved.
They were so good,
Each of the five
Bring joy to us all,
As this day was here.
The day when jazz was back,
Back in our lives.

- Comment from author about the poem: The Jazz Club that I belong to went back last night, the first time since February 2020. It was wonderful and the band, Washington Whirligig, were absolutely superb.

Oohh, it was wonderful, fantastic for you! Cos I didn't turn up and sing! heehee.
That is very true Orchi.
that reminds me
I need to go catch some live jazz, someday soon
(a little tip,
wherever I travel in the world, I look-up jazz cafe's
knowing they'll give me the best taste of the community, in a safe and open environment,
its never failed me yet)
but then I haven't really travelled a lot either, comparatively...
(I think I will listen to some Ayler later)
thanks for sharing Andy
so glad your club survived and are back, really positive and encouraging to hear
(they don't mention this small victories of life, on the front pages and news stations)
Thank you Mek, it was so good to get back to the club.
