Purposeful Persevering

Tune: Tallis' Evening Hymn

('Glory to thee, my God, this night')

Philippians 3 .12-15

**********

Not that I have the end attained

Nor yet unto perfection gained

But I do press on, for that, see

For which Christ has laid hold on me

One thing I do, forget those things

Which are past, look what each day brings

Reach forth to things which are before

Seeking to grow more Christ-like sure

I press towards the goal, the prize

The high calling of God, arise

I by His grace, this calling be

Of God in Christ Jesus fully

Let us mature be, have this mind

And if otherwise you do find

God shall reveal e'en this to you

And shall lead you in His way true
