I Fell in Love

IamUnicorn

The day I met you

I knew

You've had a hard life

I saw the tear stains on your soul

The burning in your eyes

I knew I needed you

I hoped you needed me too

From the day I met you

There was something different

Something special

You held my other half

I never knew my heart was in two

Until you showed me what you held

Though we each had only half a heart

Together we were whole

The day I said I do

I gave you all I had of a heart and you accepted it

We became one

Like teeth of a comb you filled in every gap

You soaked up all my tears and I did the same

You took my hurt away

Each day when I look at you, I know

I fell in love with you

Together we've made each other whole

May that oneness of love go on forever.

the beginning of this write reminded me of a song by the soulful
Tina Dico, titled 'Glow', and lyrics are:
'You were given nothing as a child
Now that's a lot to carry
You've been empty-handed all you life
    A heavy weight to carry
    Things could be different
But it wouldn't be the same
You wouldn't be the man I love
    Without this weight'
    (thanks for sharing,
this reads like an intimate and sincere dedication)
