Oh the sweet sweet surrender
I'm tense and rigid, in defense mode
That's why I seek refuge
Won't you please give me hope
I seek and find, only momentarily
But while it lasts, I can let go
And so my grip loosens
My brain wanders
My arms fall at my sides
My legs go limp, I say as I sigh
Oh sweet sweet surrender
Please stay, Don't go,
stick around and let me sleep
Tonight Deep and sound
My mind slips into places
I sometimes need to hide
I run but I am not moving
I cry but my eyes are dry
Oh sweet sweet surrender
Let me run, let me go
Release your hold
Please take me home
Where it's dark and quiet
Where it hurts a little less
Where I close my eyes
And I can finally lay to rest
Drift into spaces
Where colors have no name
Where time is irrelevant
Where I know no face
Where peace is gold
I call that place home
Oh sweet sweet surrender
Please let me have this moment
I promise tomorrow I will face life
I promise it's only for tonight
Let me have this moment
Just a little less alive
