Michael Anthony

The Terns and the Herons,
near the cold blue water,
know who I am.

The man by the shore
looking for something

If I don't find it today
tomorrow will find me here again

The winged hunters
take flight once more
Our purpose the same,
to find what we need
down by the water

Sitting by the shore looking out at life is a wondrous feeling.

we're all fishers, gatherers, hunters, growers...
such underlying concepts, will always stay the same
its merely their guises that morph, over Time:
instead of survival, we're chasing fulfilment and satisfaction..
    instead of calloused hands,
    we're now sporting bruised heart's,
    but, underneath it all
its all just a continuation of our human legacy, evolving, regressing
    achieving, failing
    all accumulating, underneath our histories
    collective umbrella of experienced existence..
(sorry if I interpreted your words a little different to your initial concept,
this is just the way I connected with it,
thanks for sharing such a thought provoking write)

    A thought provoking poetry
    Lifts me up
In our purpose to find ourselves, the journey shall continue to run
    Good one dear poet
