Ship On the Ocean

mrharrell

My soul is restless,

Like a ship on the ocean,

Even with no harsh waves or strong currents,

The ship is always moving.

My soul cannot find a place to rest,

Not for long, it soon gets tired

And yearns to move on.

However, with all this drifting,

It still wishes for a home,

A place to settle where the ocean

Still rocks gently but,

Doesn't leave to continue its journey.

My soul is restless,

Yet, it wants a home.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is a snippet of my inability to remain in one place for too long, unable to settle as I quickly grow tiresome and despite this, I wish for somewhere I can call home, at least for a little while.

Very emotive write. I am sure your ship will find a safe harbour soon.

    Welcome to MPS.

I think we all want to sail away and forget it all. Sadly, we always drag ourselves back to face reality.
