Where Music Rules.

Goldfinch60

The evening was drawing to a close,

I just sat in my chair listening and reading,

Coming to the end of a wonderful book.

But it happened,

I stopped reading,

The music stopped me.

I just had to listen to the notes,

The most wonderful notes

Written by that man

Who always gives me so much pleasure.

I listened intently,

I was drawn into his world

Taken from mine

Into a place of such wonder,

Where life was so beautiful,

And everyone was at peace with each other,

That place where music rules

And all are so happy,

That is what he does to me,

What Mozart does to me.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I have the complete works of Mozart, twice, in my collection, he can always bring such beauty and wonder into my life. The piece I have put on here is the actual piece I was listening to. Mitsuko Uchida is a wonderful interpreter of Mozart's Piano Sonatas. If you are interested I did finish the book as well.

    Good write Gold.
I read a bit somewhere, that Mozart could 'see' his works, before he wrote them down.
A bit of Stocken-whoever for you too? What does that do to you?! Except drown out my singing.

Thanks Orchi. Mozart was a genius.

As for Stockhausen, to be honest I have never listened to his music, I may have to do that to form my own impression of him.

So - you are using Stockhausen's music sheets as loo roll?!

I'm wondering if somewhere, Mozart has been here and read your tribute to him. I should think that Mozart sees you as a bigger star than he. Finely penned Andy. 👍

Thank you so much for your words AP, no star is bigger than Mozarts.
