Tune: Langran
('And now, my Lord, I see thee face to face')
Psalm 102 v.6-14
*********
You birds, I am like you in my distress
And like a pelican in wilderness
Like an owl of the desert, there alone
Watching, as sparrow on housetop alone
My enemies reproach me all the day
They that deride me seek to spoil my way
For I have eaten ashes as like bread
My tears have been my drink, thus I be fed
Because of you dealings, LORD, you have been
Indignant and wrathful, so have I see
For you have lifted me up, and have cast
Me down, time of your favour it seems past
My days are like a shadow that declines
And I am withered like grass, no good signs
But you, O LORD, shall endure for ever
You all generations shall recall, share
You shall arise, on Zion have mercy
The set time to favour her has come, see
For your servants are pleased and do favour
Her stones and even dust of city sure
