Off the Radar

Sonoran Bard

Feel free to look,

But you won’t find me.

I’ll be back, in time.

After I go back in time.

I’m off the radar,

It’s where I need to be.

Sorting out a shaky, injured past.

I want my past to be proud of me,

And my future to stop hurrying me along,

So I can pay my dues to the present.

One day I’ll be back,

When the time is right.

When I’m strong enough,

I’ll move this mountain off my foot.

I’m like a kid in time-out,

I’ll sit in my corner until I’m done crying.

Once I’m ready to rejoin the class,

I’ll pick up a pen and start where I left off.

Limbo is somewhere to be,

Even if it’s hell on the brake pads.

For the first time in my life,

I don’t know what’s actually right.

For now I’m off the radar,

It’s where I need to be.
