gathered came
the noble sworn
bereft of sword
nor treaty
as silent hung
the steely night
to witness
this, no duty
here raised a cup
each sombre face
blood brothers
of the flames
drawn as one
assembled here
a mournful
chant to raise
drawn for
brothers fallen
parade the
midnight shore
beneath the stars
a song of praise
for the gods
of elspenore

Compelling read and so expertly versed - cant say I remember this one D.A. but am so glad I caught it this time around. Favourite for sure.
.. Enjoyed just as much this time round as it was when originally aired ..
Has it really been two years .. blimey, where did that time go ...
I haven't checked back but I have no doubt that my previous comment was no less positive than I hope this one is .. and for what its worth, I think that the hallmark of a good if not great poetic work is its longevity and this particular one of yours, certainly stands the test of time ... Neville
Wonderful words d a.
