You are a chosen generation

And too you a holy nation

A royal priesthood, God's own special

People, to show His praises all

 

The praises of Him who has called you

Out of darkness, and now to view

His marvellous light, eternal day

To grow in Christ, the Life, Truth, Way

 

In times past you were not a people

But now God's people, by His call

You had not obtained mercy, now though

His saving mercies you do know

 

You built upon the true foundation

Of Christ, in Him full salvation

He the corner-stone, we living stones

We His house, He for us atones
