Somewhere on a Spectrum
Long before their
eyes
first failed to meet
he just knew she
would be different
somehow ..
After all, she was
so very hard to
describe ..
Like the textures
of fire and water
are so very hard to
describe ..
She was lithe like
a fish
and carefree as
a fool ..
Yet so socially
awkward
and quite unaware ..
Like a lost
flightless bird
desperate
to dance upon air ..
Yes long
before their eyes
first failed to meet ..
He just knew
she would be special
But then,
hard to understand
somehow ..
Like the contrasting
extremes of both
magma
and permafrost
are hard to fathom ..
She was
after all an enigma,
a mystery
a dream in the
making ..
But also alas,
in need of protecting
from herself and
those
with no conscience
or morals
nor bloody integrity ..
Pinned
as she was like that
on a glorious
rainbow coloured
and yes ..
Perfect broad spectrum ..

Your poignant words make clear how vulnerable such special ones are my friend and who are able to live only inside their own mysterious rainbow - - thank you for caring and for sharing truths about those - "somewhere" on an unknowable spectrum........x
