November,
fireworks, frosts
annual disgust
at lives wasted
in mankind's
futile world wars
but soon forgotten
as yuletide beckons
with tinsel, baubels
and fairy tale joy.
Whilst somewhere
out there climate
raggedly changes
slowly, menacing.
Killing, destroying.
So roll over,
back to sleep,
buy more plastic,
travel more miles,
consume more energy
luxuriate....
complacency only
kills people
somewhere else
on my TV screen
why bother me ?

A fine write dusk. I suppose it's easy to forget if it's happening 'somewhere else', and just go back to sleep.
So many ppl sleep walk through life dont they.
A very good write dear poet….what ought to be and what are we doing…looks like we are distancing ourselves from solutions and creating more problems…
I don't know if you're right. We can't do the big things thats for politicians, but we can do stuff in our own lives for the future of young ones.

A subject very much in mind at the moment. I even bought a low emissions car to contribute, i hardly use it at the moment.
