The girls you see in magazines
don't look like me at all
I don't have a spotless face,
I'm not a barbie doll,
I'm full of imperfections,
I am the girl who's always been picked upon,
I laugh like a man
I walk like some fellow.
I don't look ravishing,
My lifestyle isn't lavishing.
My dresses don't suit me
or maybe I style like a boy.
I stumble upon walking
I act like a guy,
I don't know how to do my makeup,
I get into fights,
I know how to talk back.
At times I'm a mess,
For days, I don't sleep,
the reason is unknown.
I love to stay in,
I am loud at times,
People call me annoying,
They ask me if I'm a girl or a boy,
The notion,
of what a beautiful girl should be,
Burdens me.
I'm full of insecurities, doubts and fears.
All I do is to fight for being what I actually am.
Rather, I am grateful
Passably, I'm too tired to be tagged as beautiful.

concepts of Beauty
can only interfere in your life
if you yearn, for others to value
your aesthetic qualities
over your more meaningful one's..
love yourself, First
and the worthy will follow
the rest...
well F'ck em! who cares
True....
Beauty isn't skin deep MI. Great poem
Thanks......
Join the club of the majority on this planet and you are welcomed with all your imperfection. If that's an imperfect welcoming then, count it as one of my imperfections too.
I don't care about imperfections, I care about you and the person you are and what you bring to the table of humanity.
Beauty is what we see in hearts..........the society has set unnecessary definition for the word "beautiful".....Everyone is beautiful the way they are and their imperfections made them unique
The people who care in our lives can see the goodness within us. Each of us is an individual. I have a philosophy in life:
"If you do not like what you see in me it is not my problem - it is yours"
Be true to yourself and all will be wonderful in your life MI
Andy
Thanks........... for your words I'll keep them in mind
