Festivals

spilleronsheet

Once upon a time

the festivals meant holidays

the festivals meant meeting long lost families

the festivals meant gifts

the festivals meant colours

the festivals meant light

the festivals meant delicious foods

the festivals  meant sacred rituals

with time passing by

festivals got new meanings in life

now festivals mean only a ritual

that burdens the mind

adds the aloofness

and questions the intellect of mine

why does they pop every time

now it only means a national holiday at times

So true spilleronsheet and it is so sad during these days when we need to look for the happiness that can be in our lives.

Loss, loss and more loss dear Spiller.... are we getting used to it yet? Not me.

      • spilleronsheet

        No dear
        This is not normal
And we shouldn’t accept that as a new normal

Umm !! Very true, festivals have lost the charm of socializing. They are just another number on the calendar, after corona set in.

Spiller, You are a very sensitive person, so makes you a great poet !!!
