Chips with everything,
That’s what we need.
Without them
The world will stop,
As part of my world has.
No new car yet
As there are no chips,
No chips to go with it.
No new fire
For the same reason.
Patience is a virtue they say
And waiting for my car and fire
Total patience is needed.
But still I will have chips tonight
As I will cook them,
To go with my steak.

- Comment from author about the poem: Both the new car that I ordered back in early July and the electric fire that I ordered about a month later will not be ready until next year as the computer chips that are needed for them are in very short supply.

Great one Goldy,made my night
So glad blue orchid, have a good night
You're obviously a wealthy man, well done.
Do you prefer straight cut or crinkle? Oven or deep fried? Frozen or home made? Potato or sweet potato?
These vegetarian/vegan cars are gobbling up our root vegetables.
Obviously home made chips are the best but during the technology outage I have not been able to make the chips for my new car or fire.
Andy
How come there's potatoes about, but shortage of crisps? Not getting through with the delivery problems, I suppose. Some crisps are more like bags of salt. I hardly use the little blue bags in Salt n Shake crisps.
You could always make your own crisps Orchi, just slice the potatoes skin thick, without your own skin cook them.
Andy
How well crafted dear Andy
I got bowled over the chips
Chips are scarce so are the hands who are making
While some who can make these chips are waiting to be recognised
Today it seems chips have become the centre of life
Than k you spilleronsheet, yes chips seem to run our lives nowadays.
Andy
There was a generation who fried everything, and they lived a long time.
Then the no chippers came on the scene and told us to health up. Yet the no chips lot really look they could do with a bag of chips.
Very true Paul.
Andy
Wow - - who would have believed it - - I thought chips were only fried tatties but now I know different - - hope you will not be waiting for your car far into the new year dear
Andy - - and without a fire - well do try to put on lots of extra jumpers to beat winter cold.
Yes it is so strange that even cars need chips to be built nowadays. No problem about the fire there is still heating in the house
Andy
Hey Andy - ooooooooo ribeye steak....... I'm on my way over......... as rare as you can get it and still have it warm.... bloody mess. lovely. As for chips, the techie ones I barely think about. The other kind I think about all the time but don't dare get started!
The ribeye steak was very nice Lorna, yes it was very rare as well. You are more than welcome to join me but it may take a little while for you to get here.
Andy
Apparently the semiconductor shortage is world wide, so my apologies for casting aspersions at the British political system as a source of the difficulty.
That it is Dave, it is a pain in the proverbial.
As for the British politicians they are just a bunch of lying, self-centred b******s!!
Andy
Oh dear, Andy - something has got up your nose, hasn't it? You sure you are talking about British polys and not Aussie ones ? - I would try my best not to be offended.....😊😊😊
